Triton X-100 (polyethylene glycol tert-octylphenyl ether) is a mild non-ionic detergent widely used in cell lysis and membrane protein solubilisation at 0.1 to 1%, in immunoassay and western blot wash buffers (TBST, PBST), and as a permeabilisation agent in immunofluorescence protocols. Laboratory grade is suitable for biochemical, cell biology, and molecular biology applications.
