Soluble starch AR grade is used as the indicator in iodometric and iodimetric titrations, forming a deep blue-black complex with iodine at the end-point. Also used in preparation of starch-iodide test paper for qualitative oxidant detection and as a substrate for amylase enzyme activity assays. AR grade ensures reliable end-point sensitivity and low levels of interfering substances.
