Description
Sabouraud Dextrose Agar is a selective microbiological medium for isolation and cultivation of yeasts and moulds, particularly pathogenic fungi. The high dextrose concentration and low pH (~5.6) inhibit bacterial growth while supporting fungal growth. Used in clinical mycology, food microbiology, and pharmaceutical QC for identification of Candida, Aspergillus, dermatophytes, and other fungi.
