Potato Dextrose Agar (PDA) is a general-purpose microbiological growth medium for the cultivation and enumeration of yeasts and moulds. Potato extract provides nutrients and dextrose (glucose) supports fungal growth. Widely used in food microbiology, environmental monitoring, pharmaceutical QC, and clinical mycology for isolation and maintenance of fungal cultures.
