Description
Polyethylene glycol 6000 (PEG 6000, MW ~6000 g/mol) LR grade. A solid, water-soluble polymer used as an osmotic stress agent in water potential studies, as a precipitant in protein crystallisation, as a binder in tablet formulation, and as a fusion agent in cell hybridisation. The higher molecular weight provides greater osmotic effect per gram than PEG 4000. LR grade is suitable for biochemical and preparative applications.
