Whatman Benchkote is a two-layer bench protector consisting of an absorbent cellulose top layer bonded to an impermeable polyethylene backing. Designed to protect laboratory benches from chemical spills, Benchkote is used in radioisotope handling, organic chemistry, and microbiology workflows where liquid containment and easy cleanup are critical. The impermeable backing prevents liquids from reaching the bench surface, while the absorbent top layer quickly wicks and retains spills.
