Nickel(II) hydroxide (Ni(OH)₂) used as a precursor in synthesis of nickel oxide and other nickel compounds, in preparation of nickel electrodes for alkaline battery research, and in catalysis studies. Also used as a laboratory standard for nickel corrosion chemistry and hydroxide precipitation behaviour in environmental and materials science applications.
