n-Butylamine (1-aminobutane, CH₃(CH₂)₃NH₂) LR grade. A primary aliphatic amine used as a base catalyst in organic synthesis, as a derivatising agent for carboxylic acids prior to GC analysis, and as a model compound in amine chemistry studies. Strong unpleasant odour; handle in a fume cupboard. LR grade is suitable for synthetic and preparative applications.
