Description
Methyl cellulose LR grade. A water-soluble cellulose ether that forms viscous solutions on dissolution and gels on heating. Used as a thickener and viscosity modifier in microbiological and cell culture media, as a semi-solid matrix for viral plaque assays, as a suspending agent in pharmaceutical formulation research, and as an additive in capillary electrophoresis. LR grade is suitable for microbiological and preparative applications.
