Description
Mercury(II) thiocyanate (Hg(SCN)₂) LABCHEM grade. Used as the reagent in the mercury(II) thiocyanate photometric method for chloride determination in water and environmental samples: Hg(SCN)₂ reacts with chloride to release thiocyanate, which forms a red iron(III) thiocyanate complex measurable at 460 nm. Also used in spot testing for chloride. Mercury compounds are highly toxic; handle with appropriate precautions.
