Malic acid (DL-2-hydroxysuccinic acid, C₄H₆O₅) LR grade, racemic mixture. A hydroxy dicarboxylic acid used in preparation of malate buffer solutions, as an acidulant in food and beverage applications, and as a substrate in malate dehydrogenase enzyme assays. LR grade is suitable for teaching and general preparative applications.
