Description
Eosin Y (C.I. 45380) is an acidic xanthene dye used as the cytoplasmic counter-stain in haematoxylin and eosin (H&E) histological staining. It stains eosinophilic structures — cytoplasm, collagen, muscle fibres, and red blood cells — in shades of pink to red. The water and alcohol soluble form provides flexibility for use in both aqueous and alcoholic staining protocols. LR grade is suitable for histology, pathology, and biological microscopy.
