Cyanogen bromide (CNBr) 97% reagent grade. Used for selective cleavage of polypeptide chains at methionine residues in protein sequencing and proteomics, and for activation of polysaccharide supports (such as Sepharose) for ligand coupling in affinity chromatography. Highly toxic; handle exclusively in a fume hood with appropriate personal protective equipment. 97% purity is suitable for biochemical research applications.
