Description
Cetyltrimethylammonium bromide (CTAB, hexadecyltrimethylammonium bromide) LR grade. A cationic surfactant used in nucleic acid extraction protocols (particularly for plant and fungal DNA isolation), in synthesis of gold nanorods and other nanoparticles, and in preparation of microemulsion formulations. Also used as a selective precipitant for anionic polymers. LR grade is suitable for molecular biology sample preparation and preparative chemistry applications.
