Description
Allyl alcohol (prop-2-en-1-ol, CH₂=CHCH₂OH) 99% extra pure. A reactive allylic alcohol used as a monomer in synthesis of allyl esters and allyl ethers, as a dienophile in Diels-Alder reactions, and as a synthetic intermediate in preparation of glycerol and epichlorohydrin. Also used in synthesis of pharmaceuticals and agrochemicals. Highly flammable and toxic; handle in a fume cupboard with appropriate PPE.
