Description
1,10-Phenanthroline monohydrate forms a highly stable, intensely orange-red complex (ferroin) with iron(II), and is used both as the ferroin redox indicator in titrimetry and as a spectrophotometric reagent for the colorimetric determination of iron(II) at 510 nm. Also used as a chelating ligand in coordination chemistry and as an analytical reagent for copper, nickel, and other transition metals. AR grade ensures suitability for sensitive trace metal analysis.
